So here’s the gist of it the storyline:
A young boy (Bow Wow) who lives with his grandmother (Loretta Devine) goes to play the lottery for his grandmother. As always, he goes to the store and ‘cashes’ in her numbers… and this time, it’s the winning numbers!
His grandmother is excited and wants to tell everyone… but her grandson stops her immediately and makes her promise not to tell anyone.
But somehow, the secret gets out!
You must go and see it at any of your local movie theaters TONIGHT!!!
Enjoy!!!!

Ever had a Soda Vie?
Posted on August 18, 2010 · Leave a CommentThere’s a new type of soda in town, and it’s making headlines.
“In a world of high-fructose corn syrup-infused soft drinks, Soda Vie ( www.sodavie.com) is a refreshing change of pace. The sodas are made from natural (and where feasible, organic) ingredients, including fresh ginger, whole cloves, fresh Thai basil and, when a bit of sweetness is required, cane sugar.” ~ Jill Wendholt Silva, Kansas City Star
After a few days of sitting in bottles, it develops its own sparkling quality! Then, the drink is immediately placed in the frige.
What flavors does Soda Vie come in?
BIG NEWS: Kansas City Adds a 2nd Cup Race
Posted on August 10, 2010 · Leave a CommentI just found out that the Kansas Speedway is adding a second cup race to the 2011 schedule… so that means there will be TWO NASCAR SPRINT RACES!!!!
Top cars will enter the series on June 5th and October 9th of next year. The second Cup race is scheduled for July 2011.
Can Kansas City handle so much speed?
Of course! Not only will this be great for residents, but the city will generate “$100 million in economic impact,” said International Speedway Corp. CEO Lesa France Kennedy.
Isn’t this great! I can’t wait for the races to begin! Now that we have a second one on our hands, I’ll be glued to the television for days!
Are any Cityplace residents planning to attend the races?

Be the Best Snacker You Can Be!
Posted on August 9, 2010 · Leave a CommentThere are good snackers, and there are bad snackers. And I’m definitely a bad one.
With two weddings right around the corner, I have to change my eating habits, PRONTO!
If you’re looking to change your snack habits for the better, here’s some healthy tips:
- A honey bun instead of an apple? Don’t get me wrong, honey buns are one of my weaknesses. But I’ve realized that the things that come in those cute plastic wrappers will probably contain the most calories. It’s okay to have one every once in a while, but stick to fruits when your sweet tooth starts bothering you.
- Go for the granola bar instead of Snickers. They contain whole wheats, fibers and other healthy nutritional sources. You can find healthy items like those at your local Super Walmart.
- Choose calcium over sodium. Both make me happy, but it’s best to eat yogurt or drink a glass of milk instead of that bag of Cheetos I have my eyes on.
What are some good snacking habits you’ve picked up?

Clothing Care Remedies You’ve Never Imagined
Posted on August 4, 2010 · Leave a CommentThere’s so many things sitting around your house that you can use to infuse your clothing with delicious scents and clean them at the same time. Here’s a few I found, I’d like to share this with you:
- Use scented mint, vanilla and other soft scents to keep your clothes smelling fresh.
- Wet shoes? Keep them in shape and help them dry faster by stuffing them with newspaper.
- Velcro for gaps? That’s right. Just sew in a patch of velcro between buttons on your shirt… and wa-la! No more gaps!
I’m sure everyone at Cityplace Apartments can find small items around the house that will mend or improve your apparel!

Easy Ways to Burn Calories
Posted on July 29, 2010 · Leave a CommentSometimes, working out can take lots of energy out of you… but you don’t have to make exercising feel like a tiresome job… make it fun by burning calories doing other things besides hitting up the treadmill:
- Do crunches while looking at television: Yep. Most 30 minutes shows have about 7 minutes of commercials… so get on the floor and get busy! You can burn up to 30 calories.
- Wash your car: Wax on, wax off! Washing your car can burn off 140 calories.
- Take a break: Take short four-minute breaks throughout the day and take a walk around the job. You’ll burn about 100 calories from doing just that!
Besides going to our wonderful fitness center, what are some things you do around your apartment to burn some calories?
